iPhone 5s Price News Update: Gold Model iPhone 5s by Apple Inc. (APPL) on eBay Up to $5,000 [Video]

Apple has sold 9 million units of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, but it is the gold model of the smartphone that's making the rounds on eBay.

A search of "iPhone 5s gold" on eBay resulted in over 2,500 results, from unlocked to required subscriptions to the top U.S. mobile carriers.

The gold iPhone 5s, however, will cost up to $1,000, if not, more.

The highest priced iPhone 5s was a $5,000 gold 32GB model for carrier AT&T, which was posted by bigbargaintrims. The price might be outrageous, but hey, on the bright side, there's free shipping.

A new 32GB gold factory unlocked iPhone 5s has a "Buy It Now" price of $10,000.

The expensive eBay prices for the gold model come as the smartphone was backordered to October regardless of carrier and the amount of internal storage.

The eBay prices are far more expensive than what Apple officially offers.

On Apple's official website, the 16GB model is priced at $199 when signing a two-year contract with AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon Wireless. The 32GB variant will cost the consumer $299. The 64GB is priced at $399 when signing a contract for two years.

T-Mobile's new iPhone, on Apple.com, is not available at the same price tags as featued by AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless. Instead, Apple is offering the iPhone 5s unlocked and contract-free with T-Mobile. The 16GB model at T-Mobile is priced at $649, $749 for the 32GB model and $849 for the 64GB variant.

The features for the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s are, for the most part, the same specifications as the discontinued iPhone 5, such as the 4-inch Retina Display with 1,136x640 resolution, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1080p HD video recording camera, to name a few. The iPhone 5s features a larger f/2.2 aperture for the rear-facing camera with the aim of improving low-light photography. The iPhone 5s utilizes the A7 processor chip with 64-bit architecture, which plays a critical role with the Touch ID. The iPhone 5s will be available in the traditional black and white models, but also a gold variant as well.
