HTC is kicking off an aggressive Android 4.3 update campaign for its flagship One smartphone with a bang. The Taiwanese manufacturer recently released Android 4.3 for HTC Ones in Taiwan, and it looks like HTC isn't slowing down, with reports amassing that Android 4.3 is now rolling out to Developer Editions of the HTC One and unlocked U.S. HTC Ones.

The update, weighing in at 564MB, doesn't come with an official changelog, but expect all the usual goodies that come with Android 4.3, which contains mostly-under-the-hood changes. Alongside some improved notifications and home screen functions, the upgrade patch also contains improvements to HTC's Sense user interface such as new video highlight themes. Users who haven't received the update over the air can manually try to obtain it by going to Settings > About > Software Updates > Check Now.

HTC kicked off its update phase for the popular One smartphone by upgrading Taiwan variants. Next in line are U.S. HTC Ones through carriers. While U.S. carrier-tied smartphones are usually some of the last ones on the planet to receive Android updates, the HTC One looks to change that, albeit at a cost.

The upcoming U.S. HTC One Android 4.3 upgrade will not include Sense 5.5 (the latest version of HTC's Sense UI), but is expected at the end of September/early October. The international HTC One upgrade will come out later, but with Sense 5.5 included. The United States is expected to get Sense 5.5 at a later unspecified date.
