Google is widely expected to unveil a brand new Nexus smartphone sometime in October, and while the phone still remains a mystery, an accessories manufacturer reveals that it should be released and in consumer hands by the end of October.

Third-party smartphone accessories manufacturer Spigen has already put up listings for Nexus 5 screen protectors on Amazon. The protectors cost $8.99 and come with an "in stock on Oct. 30, 2013" tag. This, of course, cannot be literally taken as the date that the Nexus 5 releases, but if Spigen is correct, then it's a good indication that the Nexus 5 will either release before or on Oct. 30.

This isn't the first time that we've heard of an October release for the Nexus 5. Most industry experts anticipate that Google will be unveiling the Nexus 5 handset alongside Android 4.4 KitKat at an event Oct. 14. If that date holds true (Google has yet to send out any press invites), then there's a good chance that the phone will release by the end of the month, at least through Google Play.

Not much is known about the Nexus 5, except that it should sport a bigger display that the Nexus 4. The phone has gone through many iterations and manufacturers in the rumor mill, but new information, such as this FCC filing, hints that LG will once again produce Google's flagship Nexus smartphone. The phone is expected to have specs similar to the LG G2.
