Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in India: Nokia Lumia Amber Update Available for All Lumia 520, Lumia 620, Lumia 720, Lumia 820, Lumia 920 Smartphones [Video]

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update has officially rolled out and completed its distribution in India.

The Amber Update in India is so far valid for the Lumia 520, Lumia 620, Lumia 720, Lumia 820, and the Lumia 920.

Although the specific mobile carriers in the country were not listed, Nokia noted the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update is "Available" for the five aforementioned Lumia smartphones.

As Latinos Post previously reported early September, the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720's Windows Phone 8 Amber Update were listed as "Waiting for approval." The Lumia 620, meanwhile, had its update in the "Coming soon" phase.

According to Nokia, the term "waiting for approval" is defined as undergoing a final test with either the specific country or mobile carrier before approval. The definition for "coming soon" means the update has been approved but is in "final pre-release checks."

Nokia noted, "To make sure you don't miss out on the notification, check on your phone that under Settings > Phone Update > 'Tell me when updates are available for my phone' is enabled."

As Latinos Post reported, the Windows Phone 8 Nokia Lumia Amber Update improves the smartphone's camera, particularly the auto focus, noise filter, and low-light photo-taking capabilities, to name a few.

Meanwhile, Nokia Conversations added that the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update was not released in one rollout in order to ensure "quality standards" but did correctly project when the update would be completed.

"To ensure the software update meets our quality standards, we're running multiple tests with various country variants and operators," wrote Nokia Conversations' Ian Delaney. "We make the updates available to you as soon as we complete testing. With Lumia Amber we expect to have the update arriving in all Lumia Windows Phone 8 phones by the end of September. Be patient - it's coming!"
