Isn’t it a joy to be teased? Not in a humiliating manner, of course, but with intentions of building anticipation and excitement, leaving you yearning for more. It tantalizes your senses. It leaves you breathless, giddy and hungry for more. And now it’s your turn to be delightfully, or better yet, horrifically teased by brand new teasers for the upcoming season of “American Horror Story.” The third season, titled “Coven,” will return to FX in October, only the fuel the ghoulish autumn evenings and embed nightmares in our nightly routines. In anticipation of the Emmy Award-winning series, FX has released a series of brief teasers, each one hinting at different components of the show, each one as creepy as the last.
Prior teasers feature demented figures gouged with needles, beautiful young witches marching into their new New Orleans homes, a young girl casually resting inside a buried coffin, and a white snake slithering past red lipstick lips.
Now the newest promo shows more, less ominous and more specific scenes from the upcoming season. It offers a clearer view of what’s to come, but one thing is still reminiscent of those prior: It’s going to be the scariest season yet. Check it out for yourself below.
“Coven” tells the story of witches and their craft in America. More than 300 years have passed since the Salem trials, which struck fear and a common misconception into the hearts of puritans across New England, and now all those that managed to escape are on the brink of extinction. In today’s day and age, young witches are being sent to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. But when one particular student, Zoe, arrives with a terrifying secret of her own, Fiona makes her return with a cold blooded thirst to save Coven at all costs.
“American Horror Story” will return to FX October 9.
