Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid pulled off a terrific 4-1 win against Getafe on Sunday.

Los Blancos entered the match in dire need of points. After a game with Villarreal last week in which the team drew 2-2, Madrid entered Sunday's contest five points behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid for first place.

Things did not get off to an ideal start for Los Blancos as new acquisition Gareth Bale suffered an injury prior to the start of the game. Then Getafe took a lead just five minutes in thanks to Lafita. Fortunately Pepe tied the game up just 14 minutes later before a handball gave Cristiano Ronaldo the chance at a penalty shot in the 33rd minute. The superstar converted for his third goal of the Spanish League and his fourth this week; he scored a hat trick as Madrid cruised to a 6-1 Champions League victory over Galatasaray.

Isco added insurance in the 59th minute with his third goal of the Spanish League and second of the week; he scored the opener against Galatasaray that ultimately helped Madrid wake up from a poor start. Ronaldo added an injury time goal to close out the 4-1 scoreline.

Overall, Madrid managed 29 shots to Getafe's 7; the team had nine corner kicks and possessed the ball for 63 percent of the game.

With the win, Real Madrid sits in third place in the league with 13 points and holds a record of four wins and one draw through five matches. They will take on Elche on Wednesday before facing off with Atletico Madrid three days later.
