Apple is gearing up for its first dual smartphone-release, and while the public won't get a chance to grab the iPhone 5s or the iPhone 5c until Friday, Sept. 20, one website has already ripped apart the new low-cost iPhone 5c alongside the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5. The consensus? Apple hasn't changed how it thinks much on the inside.

Website iExperts was somehow able to get models of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c ahead of their release dates and posted a breakdown of the teardowns between the two new phones and last year's iPhone 5. Unsurprisingly, Apple doesn't seem to have changed much.

The iPhone 5c opens up the same way as the iPhone 5, but the iPhone 5s requires a little extra work thanks to an extra clip that is part of the new fingerprint sensor. The iPhone 5c's battery stands in at 5.73Whr, while the iPhone 5s is 5.92Whr and the iPhone 5 is 5.45Whr. iExperts also note that "Apple Japan" is printed on the iPhone 5c and 5s batteries and not on the iPhone 5 battery.

Other than that, the iPhone 5c, alongside the iPhone 5s, sport a different battery casing and more compact logic boards than the iPhone 5. Apple also seems to have reinforced the power switches on the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s as well as made a more compact charger.

As you can see, the changes noted above are incredibly surface level. The iPhone 5c is the first iPhone to be priced at $99 (with a two-year contract) and the iPhone 5s contains a 64-bit A7 processor (previous models, including the iPhone 5c contain a 32-bit processor) and a fingerprint sensor. All three models can run the same iOS 7 operating system, and it's unlikely there will be a huge performance gap between the three. Those looking for more color choices, however, might want to look toward the iPhone 5c, even though it comes encased in plastic instead of metal like the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s.
