HTC Butterfly owners in India are finally receiving the much-anticipated Sense 5 update, bringing features such as BlinkFeed to the subcontinent. That's not all, however, as HTC is also pushing out Android 4.2.2 alongside the Sense update.

HTC India took to Facebook earlier Thursday to confirm that the Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 update is now rolling out to HTC Butterfly handsets in India.

"Upgrade to the BlinkFeed on your HTC Butterfly! Android 4.2.2 is out now. Announcements for other handsets to come soon," HTC India posted on Facebook.

As is the norm with Android updates rolling out over the air, not all handsets will receive it at the same time. Instead, the release will happen in batches, with some getting it before others. Those too eager to wait can always keep manually checking for the upgrade via Settings > About Phone > System Updates.

Android 4.2.2 will bring the usual bug fixes and security improvements, but won't change the feel of the Jelly Bean interface by much. Instead, it's the new Sense 5 UI that HTC Butterfly owners should be looking forward to the most.

Sense 5 introduces BlinkFeed, a content aggregating platform for the homescreen. Users can customize their BlinkFeed to display desired news, information, and even media such as videos. Sense 5 will also bring Quick Settings, an improved auto focus for the camera, a new keyboard, and more to the HTC Butterfly. According to HTC Source, the only HTC One feature left out of the Butterfly's Sense 5 is HTC Zoe, which allows the user to shoot 20 images and four seconds of video simultaneously.

Let us know if you've received the Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5 for your HTC Butterfly and how much the experience has improved (or gotten worse) in the comments section below.
