'Modern Family' Season 5 Spoilers: Dana Powell Cast as Cam's Sister, Possible Wedding 'in the Cards'

"Modern Family" fans will finally get to meet a member of Cam's farm-loving family. 

Dana Powell has joined the cast as Cam's (Eric Stonestreet) sister, TVLine reports. Powell, known for playing a nosy suburbanite on "Suburgatory," has appeared in the "Arrested Development" Netflix revival, "2 Broke Girls" and "The Office." 

Powell's sassy character will show similarities to her flamboyant brother. Before the casting, executive producer Christopher Lloyd told TVLine that he was looking to cast someone who was "colorful and believable" to portray Cam's sister, and added that the two siblings will share "a little bit of a competitive relationship."

Season five will also have a lot more surprises in store for all of the hilarious characters.

Although last season ended on a sad note with the death of Phil's mother, it means that next season could feature more of comedy vet Fred Willard, who plays Phil's father on the series. According to Yahoo News, Ty Burrell, who plays Phil, said, "I hope that leads to some more Fred Willard-ness in the show, and I believe that it will. I'm not sure exactly how that's going to play out, but we all love getting to play around with Fred. I suspect there will be more of that." 

Another guest star will appear in the form of an enthusiastic nanny. Adam DeVine of "Workaholics" will be playing a recurring role as baby Joe's 'manny'. Yet, EP Lloyd said the new character "doesn't want to just take care of the baby. He wants to sort of revive the entire household, which leads to some territorial clashes" with the family. 

The cast hinted that there will also be a new boyfriend for Haley (Sarah Hyland). 

Fans may also see a major wedding at the end of season five. Now that the Defense of Marriage Act was struck down and gay marriage is legal again in the state of California, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam may finally get to tie the knot. Ferguson and Stonestreet hinted to E! News that a wedding might be "in the cards" for the new season. 

Season five of "Modern Family" premieres on Wednesday, September 25 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
