Paula Patton may be one of the coolest wives on the planet. Not only did she not have a problem with her husband Robin Thicke's provocative performance with Miley Cyrus at the MTV VMAs, but she proved she can be a good sport by twerking with Al Roker.

On Tuesday, the 37-year-old actress stressed that she did not have a problem with her 36-year-old husband's controversial VMA performance that involved Cyrus, 20, gyrating, or "twerking," on the "Blurred Lines" singer while wearing a latex bikini set.

Patton, who is making media rounds to promote her new film "Baggage Claim," appeared on "Watch What Happens Live." When asked by a viewer, "How long did it take to wash Miley's funk off your husband's Beetlejuice pants?"

Patton answered, "First of all, his outfit was fly," she said of the black-and-white striped suit Thicke wore on stage. "Secondly, he was wearing pants so there was nothing to wash off. It wasn't a naked show!" reports the New York Daily News.

"I wasn't surprised at all," she added. "Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don't know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your . . . all my friends do it like that. And I don't really know what the big deal is."

What did surprise Patton was how negatively fans reacted to the performance. "I didn't know if they thought Miley was going to sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys. Her song's about taking molly!" she said.

To further prove that she sees nothing wrong with a little twerking, the "2 Guns" star did a little twerking herself on the NBC's Today Wednesday morning.

"I don't know if you guys have been to a club lately, but that's how girls dance at the club," said Patton. "My friends dance with [Robin] like that. It's just what they do."

The wife and mother then took things a little further by twerking on weather anchor Al Roker. "Your wife's not going to get mad at you is she?" she asked Roker.

When asked what's the secret to Patton's happy eight-year marriage with Thicke, Patton said "love" and not being too uptight. "I want him to express himself however he feels, and he lets me do the same," Patton explained.
