Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in Spain: Nokia Lumia Amber Update for Lumia 520 via Vodafone Released; Status on Movistar, Orange [Video]

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update is officially available for two additional variants of the Nokia Lumia smartphone via a Spanish mobile carrier.

As Latinos Post reported, the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update is available in Spain for the Lumia 620 and Lumia 920 via carrier Vodafone.

Vodafone has officially launched the Amber Update for the Lumia 520 in Spain as well. 

A "Country variant" of the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 has also rolled out the new Windows Phone 8 update.

Meanwhile, the Lumia 520 is in the "Waiting for approval" phase from mobile carriers Movistar and Yoigo. The same Lumia smartphone, however, is listed as "Coming soon" from carrier Orange.

As Latinos Post reported, Nokia defines "waiting for approval" as undergoing final test with either the specific country or mobile carrier before approval. The "coming soon" definition means the update has been approved but is in "final pre-release checks."

Meanwhile, Movistar's Lumia 620 and Lumia 820 are also in the "waiting" stages.

Finally, the Lumia 720, via Vodafone, is coming soon.

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update for the Nokia Lumia smartphones improves the smartphone's camera, particularly the auto focus, noise filter and low-light photo-taking capabilities, to name a few features.

According to Nokia, "To make sure you don't miss out on the notification, check on your phone that under Settings > Phone Update > 'Tell me when updates are available for my phone' is enabled."

As Latinos Post reported, Nokia did not rollout the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in one huge distribution to ensure "quality standards."

"To ensure the software update meets our quality standards, we're running multiple tests with various country variants and operators," wrote Nokia Conversations' Ian Delaney. "We make the updates available to you as soon as we complete testing. With Lumia Amber we expect to have the update arriving in all Lumia Windows Phone 8 phones by the end of September. Be patient - it's coming!"
