The Google Nexus 7 had made a significant impact in the tablet market. It is priced far lower than the Apple iPad, and at $200, offers a solid, intuitive tablet experience.

It's a solid buy, with many reviews in favor of the tablet. It runs the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, which allows it to deliver a smooth and robust amount of features.

Here's some user comments on the tablet, if you haven't picked it up and some apps to download if you already have it.

" My 7 is flawless." - effingpace"

Nexus7 is awesome. I have no problems with it." - ronlsjr

"So I did it its flawless super nice device. So far no issues." - xmoox

Reviews for the Nexus 7 have almost universally been positive. Keep in mind that there are plenty of user complaints about the device too. Apparently, the Nexus 7's display is a little shoddy and might crack or have dead pixels.

A post on xDA developers said:

"still like it? its been less than a month lol ive had 2 defective ones and a 3rd is being sent to me, and i still like it."

If you've ignored these issues and picked one up anyway - you might want to pick up these apps.

Swiftkey - This app brings up a more accurate and customizable keyboard interface. If you're like me and have trouble with touchscreens sometimes, then this is a good app to have around.

Tweetcaster - Social networking freak? This app is customized to the Google Nexus 7 screen and allows for in-depth searches than the official Twitter search.

Skype - This app will allow you to take advantage of the front-facing camera. It won't be an official version, but apparently it works just fine.

Pocket - This app lets you catch up on lost time on the internet. If you're browsing webpages and have to run, you can just save them through this app and view them later. A handy tool to read in the suubway or places you won't have internet access.

Pulse - A great news app that aggregates stories into a visually-pleasing format. You can also customize it so the news that's most relevant to you shows up.
