During a press call, Mexican singer, Paulina Rubio, talked about how fortunate she feels to represent the Latino community on "The X Factor" and the special bond she shares with former Disney star, Demi Lovato. "I'm very honored to represent my people with joy, a lot of happiness and spiciness," said Rubio, according to the Huffington Post.

"When Simon [Cowell] first approached me, I was so excited. I was surprised in the beginning and then I was really, really excited," Rubio told reporters, according to the Huffington Post. "Of course it's one of the biggest opportunities right now in my career. And I'm just so excited to see how everybody is embracing the news."

The 42-year-old singer has been in the music business for over 25 years and believes her "fierce attitude" will surprise the audience. "They will be surprised that I have been in the music industry for so long... that I'm outspoken and I'm not intimidated by anything, that I am very loyal to my feelings and who I am," said the star, who has also been a coach in "La Voz México" and "La Voz Kids."

"The hardest thing is just to talk with your heart and tell them when they don't have the talent," Rubio said. "But they are coming for professional advice so I decided to be constructive and positive. I always say the positive first, then the negative."

"I think you need to talk with your heart. I have to transmit how I feel when [contestants] perform in front of me and give them good advice so they can come out of the audition with a good experience," said Rubio, as published by NBC Latino.

"I love to break the rules a bit," explained the singer. "I love to express myself through fashion and my songs. I'm honored to represent Latinos - I do that with happiness, joy and spiciness."

The "Ni Una Sola Palabra" singer talked about the "love" and respect she has for 21-year-old Demi Lovato.  "We share so many things - we talk about music, art, love, friends and life", said Rubio, according to NBC Latino. "She's a workaholic like me, and a very brilliant, bright girl."

"I don't really see myself in her," added Rubio. "But I just love her ... and I've tried to teach her about living, and life."
