Rain delays have caused PGA officials to finish the BMW Championship on Monday after soggy Sunday conditions caused play to stop with Jim Furyk sitting in the lead.

Furyk, who has gone three years without a tour victory, took the lead after shooting a 59 on Friday - the sixth in the PGA Tour - and holding a one-shot victory over Steve Strickler, with only six players (three groups) having teed off on Sunday. The bad weather will have an effect on the 42 players yet to tee off, all vying to finish in the top 30 to qualify for next week's final leg of the FedEx Cup in Atlanta, GA with a $10 million dollar prize on the line.

"The bad news -- obviously, I'm anxious to get out there and play, as is everyone else," said Furyk. "But the good news is no one wants to go out and play in this and slop it around in bad weather on a golf course where we're playing the ball down and it's probably a little too wet out there."

Furyk hopes to hold off Stricker, Brandt Snedeker (sitting on third place two shots behind Furyk), Zach Johnson, and Tiger Woods, who is tied in fifth place four shots behind the leader. Woods, was penalized on Friday by PGA officials when his ball was moved as he was removing a small branch next it behind the green.

"I was pretty hot because I felt like, as I said, nothing happened," said Woods 24 hours after he was penalized for two strokes for the rules infractions. "I felt like the ball oscillated and that was it. I played the rest of the round grinding my tail off to get myself back in the tournament and then go from 5 to 7 behind, that was tough. After seeing the video I thought the ball just oscillated, and I thought that was it. I thought that was the end of story."
