Apple has issued an update for the OS X Mountain Lion with version 10.8.5.
According to Apple, the OS X Mountain Lion version 10.8.5 is recommended for all users of the desktop operating system.

The Cupertino-based organization noted that the update improves compatibility, security, and stability of the Mac computer.
In addition, the OS X Mountain Lion version 10.8.5 update fixes an issue with Mail that prevented displaying messages, improves AFP file transfer performances with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/c connection and resolves a problem that stopped a screen saver from automatically starting.
Further fixes with the OS X update include improvements on Xsan reliability and large file transfers over Ethernet.
The update also features enhancements seen in the first software update for the MacBook Air (Mid-2013).
The update comes as Apple is set to release OS X 10.9 Mavericks this fall. The OS X Mavericks was confirmed on July 10 at Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) along with presentations for iOS 7, iTunes Radio and more.
To install the latest OS X Mountain Lion update, Mac owners should click on the Apple logo () on the top left corner of the screen and select "Software Update."
