Nokia Lumia Amber Update in Philippines: Windows Phone 8 Amber Update Available with Carrier Globe for Lumia 620 and Lumia 820 Smartphones [Video]

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update has started to rollout for two Nokia Lumia smartphones via the carrier Globe in the Philippines.

The Lumia 620 and Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 smartphones are officially receiving the Amber Update from mobile carrier Globe.

As Latinos Post reported, Globe previously had the Lumia 620 and Lumia 820 listed as "Waiting for approval."

Nokia has defined the term "waiting for approval" as undergoing final test with either the specific country or mobile carrier before approval.

Globe's rollout of the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update comes as a "Country variant," according to Nokia, of the update was made available for the Lumia 620, Lumia 820, and Lumia 920.

Meanwhile, Lumia 520 owners are still waiting for the Amber Update to rollout from carrier Sun but the update is listed as "Waiting for approval."

Smart subscribers with the Lumia 920 are also in the "Waiting for approval" stage.

Finally, the "Country variant" of the Lumia 520, Lumia 620, and Lumia 720 are also in the waiting approval phase.

A major improvement within the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update are the enhanced features for the Nokia Lumias' camera, particularly the auto focus, noise filter, and low-light photo-taking capabilities, to name a few tweaks.

As Latinos Post reported, Nokia did not rollout the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in one huge distribution to ensure "quality standards."

"To ensure the software update meets our quality standards, we're running multiple tests with various country variants and operators," wrote Nokia Conversations' Ian Delaney. "We make the updates available to you as soon as we complete testing. With Lumia Amber we expect to have the update arriving in all Lumia Windows Phone 8 phones by the end of September. Be patient - it's coming!"

According to Nokia, "To make sure you don't miss out on the notification, check on your phone that under Settings > Phone Update > 'Tell me when updates are available for my phone' is enabled."
