Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in UK: Nokia Lumia Amber Update Available for Lumia 920 by Carrier 3UK Now Available [Video]

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update is now available for another Nokia Lumia smartphone.

The Lumia 920, via mobile carrier 3UK, has started its rollout after previously getting the "coming soon" status.

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update for the Lumia 920 was already available for the O2 and Vodafone carriers. Meanwhile, Everything Everywhere (EE) is still in the "waiting for approval" stage of the Lumia 920's Amber Update.

Nokia has defined the term "waiting for approval" as undergoing final test with either the specific country or mobile carrier before approval. The definition for "coming soon" means the update has been approved but is in "final pre-release checks."

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update is also available for a "country variant" of the Lumia 620, Lumia 820 and Lumia 920.

Vodafone and O2's variant of the Lumia 820 is also accepting the Lumia 820's Windows Phone 8 Amber Update.

The Lumia 520 is "waiting for approval" from 3UK and O2, while the device is "coming soon" from EE and Vodafone.

The Lumia 620 from 3UK is waiting approval, but it is coming soon via O2, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone.

Finally, the Lumia 720 by O2 is also awaiting approval.

The Windows Phone 8 Amber Update includes improvements to the Nokia Lumia's camera, particularly the auto focus, noise filter, and low-light photo-taking capabilities, to name a few tweaks.

As Latinos Post reported, Nokia did not rollout the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in one huge distribution to ensure "quality standards."

"To ensure the software update meets our quality standards, we're running multiple tests with various country variants and operators," wrote Nokia Conversations' Ian Delaney. "We make the updates available to you as soon as we complete testing. With Lumia Amber we expect to have the update arriving in all Lumia Windows Phone 8 phones by the end of September. Be patient - it's coming!"
