Dreams really do come true. “Breaking Bad” will get a second wind. Sure, it may not be a prolonged season or any special episodes, but it will honored a series prequel from Saul Goodman, everybody’s favorite lawyer.

Originally rumors of a “Breaking Bad” spin-off series featuring the zany attorney surfaced last spring, but nothing official ever matriculated. However, now that “Breaking Bad” is rapidly approaching its series finale, deep sigh, its producers have made the executive decision to keep the wheels turning. Why not? “Breaking Bad” has proven to be one of the most successful drama sitcoms of all time, and Saul, played by Paul Odenkirk, is one of the most enticing and entertaining characters on the show. It just makes sense.

On Wednesday, AMC and Sony Pictures Television agreed to create the prequel, which will be named “Better Call Saul.” The series will bypass the traditional pilot process and dive straight into a full series, according to TVLine. AMC announced that the spin-off “will focus on the evolution” of Saul Goodman before he became tangled in Walter White’s debauchery.

Unfortunately, a current timeframe is nonexistent. In fact, Odenkirk is unsure whether he’ll fulfill the role of Saul. The show will depict the lawyer at a much younger age, which could prove difficult for the seasoned actor. That being said, fans can’t imagine a better actor to play the role. Odenkirk created the character and will forever be synonymous with his image. If they are to replace him, the show must find someone with a similar physical appearance and an equally robust charism, a daunting task indeed.

Regardless, “Breaking Bad” fans can turn that frown upside down. Walt may be gone, but his memory will ripple throughout eternity with the help of “Better Call Saul.” And who knows? Perhaps the spin-off series will be just as grappling as its predecessor. Just what the doctor ordered.
