Mario Lopez and Wife, Courtney, Welcome Baby Boy

Mexican-American television host and actor, Mario Lopez, and his wife, Courtney, welcomed their second son together, Dominic, on Monday (Sept. 9) evening, according to the Huffington Post. Lopez announced the news to his fans through his Twitter page. "It's a boy! Please welcome Dominic Lopez to the world! Couldn't be happier...@CourtneyMLopez & baby are doing just fine," wrote the proud dad.

The "Extra" star later tweeted, "I am in heaven right now...And in a bar #CelebratingDominicLopez #BabyLopezNumber2." Lopez and his wife also have a daughter, Gia Franceso, who turns 3 on Sept. 11. The couple has been together since 2008, but only tied the knot in February 2013 in Punta Mita, México.

Lopez also posted pictures from the hospital. "The mommas and I are ready to go! It's game time," he captioned a photo where he can be seen with his wife and his mother-in-law. Later he shared a picture of his wife, which he captioned, "Waiting for the Dr....@CourtneyMLopez & I are ready to go! Is it a boy or a girl."

Last month, during an interview with HuffPost Voces, Lopez talked about a possible political career in future. It all started off as a Conan O'Brien's joke during the 2013 White House Correspondents Dinner last year, but according to Lopez, it may come true.

"I remember [when] Conan O'Brien said that," said Lopez referring the comedian's comment. "I'm very flattered. In fact I like politics and I love staying true to my community and you never know maybe later on it would be something that I would wanna get into."

The actor also joked about what his first move as a President would be. "I would make tortillas national [laughs]," Lopez told the Huffington Post. "Tortillas would replace bread in every restaurant, that would be my first mission. I would make tortillas an option at restaurants."

At last year's White House Correspondents Dinner, O'Briend talked about the changing American demographics and the heavy influence of Latinos, the Huffington Post reported. The comedian and late night talk show host even said that, in a couple of years from now, the next president could be Hispanic, suggesting that Lopez could fit the position.
