Congo DR and Togo will face off on Sunday in the CAF World Cup 2014 Qualifiers.

Neither team has anything to fight for except for pride and a higher FIFA ranking as both Togo and Congo have already been eliminated from contention.

Togo's campaign got off to a promising start as the team drew 1-1 against Libya in its opening World Cup Qualifier. Since then, the team has plummeted lower and lower. The second game against Congo DR featured a 2-0 loss for Togo. In the third qualifier, the team lost 2-1 against Cameroon thanks to a pair of goals from Samuel Eto'o. In the follow-up, Togo managed a 2-0 win but FIFA investigations revealed foul play from Togo; this led to the organization awarding Cameroon with a vital 3-0 victory that essentially eliminated Togo from contention. If not for that loss, Togo would have four points. However, the most recent qualifier was the real tragedy for the team; Libya defeated Togo 2-0.

Congo DR lost 1-0 against Cameroon in its opener but bounced back with a 2-1 win over Togo. In the third match the team drew 0-0 against Libya in two straight matches. In its fifth qualifier, Congo held Cameroon to a 0-0 standstill but eliminated itself from the qualifiers. Despite being eliminated, Congo DR has put together the best defensive effort of the entire campaign by allowing only one goal through five games; Libya has allowed only two goals while Cameroon has conceded three times. No other team in the entire CAF Confederation has come close achieving the defensive record of Congo DR.

Prediction: Congo will play solid defense as usual and pull off a 1-0 win over Togo.

Start Time: 11:30 a.m. EST

The match will not be broadcast on line or on television.
