Sierra Leone and Equatorial Guinea will face off on Friday in the CAF World Cup Qualifiers.

There is little at stake for either side as they have both already been eliminated from contention. The most that could come out of the match is a higher FIFA ranking for the victor.

Sierra Leone started its campaign with a 2-1 win over Cape Verde. In its second game, Sierra Leone drew 2-2 in Equatorial Guinea. The team then lost 2-1 against Tunisia before drawing 2-2 with the same nation. At that point, Sierra Leone had five points and could still make a run with a victory over Cape Verde. Its opponents only had six points in the competition. However, Cape Verde pulled off a 1-0 lead and effectively eliminated Sierra Leone from contention.

Equatorial Guinea's journey to elimination was far less dramatic. The team lost 3-1 against Tunisia in its opener and drew 2-2 against Sierra Leone in its follow-up. The team then defeated Cape Verde 4-3 in its third game, but FIFA later ruled that the team had been involved in foul play and stripped it of its victory; instead Equatorial Guinea was given a 3-0 defeat that ultimately ruined its World Cup hopes. The team then lost 2-1 against Cape Verde, but more foul play left it with yet another 3-0 defeat. In its most recent game, the team drew 1-1 with Equatorial Guinea.

Prediction: This will be a wide open affair that ends in a 3-3 draw.

Start Time: 12:30 p.m. EST
