We knew it wouldn't take long for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to begin its release in the U.S., but one of the details leading up to Samsung's unveiling of the phablet and its Galaxy Gear smartwatch accessory that no one knew was the price. Now we have a good idea of what Verizon will be charging for both device, including what they'll cost bundled together.
According to a leaked screenshot, found by Androidspin, Verizon plans on launching the Note 3 for just under $700.00 off-contract and a penny short of $300.00 with a 2-year contract. But more interesting is Verizon Wireless's apparent plan to bundle the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear together for a price of $600.00.
Because the Galaxy Gear is quoted as costing about $300 by itself, it's a safe assumption that the $600.00 figure is with a 2-year contract. Of course, it would be nice if Verizon would sweeten the deal with some sort of accessory because that bundled price is basically the cost of buying a Galaxy Note 3 on contract and then buying the Galaxy Gear at its quoted price anywhere else.
We'll see though, as the Big Red wireless provider is taking pre-orders starting Friday, September 6, with a still unknown release date for the two. You can bet that Verizon will be launching the Galaxy Note 3 in early October at least, since they're taking pre-orders now and AT&T and T-Mobile are both confirmed as releasing the newest Samsung phablet in the first couple days of October.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the newest premium phablet from the South Korean manufacturer, offering a 5.7-inch screen, which is larger than its predecessor, while still being lighter and thinner than the Galaxy Note 2. The device has a 13-megapixel camera, 32GB of storage with microSD expansion, and a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz with an amazing 3GB of RAM supporting it. Samsung has put a lot of improvements into the Note 3, including an S Pen with a lot more functionality and multi-tasking capabilities.
