Belgium will look to inch one step closer to a World Cup 2014 berth when it takes on Scotland in qualifiers on Friday.

The top team in each group earns an automatic spot in Brazil next summer while second place must take another second place team in a two-legged playoff.

Belgium currently sits atop Group A with 19 points and has already clinched at least second place in the group. However, second place Croatia is just three points behind Belgium and only needs a combination of a win and a Belgium loss to jump into the top spot.

Life in this tournament has been rather comfortable for the Red Devils. They opened up with a 2-0 win over Wales before drawing 1-1 against Croatia. In their third match of the tournament, Belgium took down Serbia 3-0 before putting up a 2-0 win over Scotland and 2-0 victory over Macedonia. Another 1-0 win over Macedonia and a 2-1 victory over Serbia are Belgium's latest victories in the group stage.

Meanwhile, Scotland has been officially eliminated from contention. With five points in seven matches, the Scots can only hope to obtain a maximum of 14 points. The team opened its tournament with a pair of promising draws before falling 2-1 against Wales. The wheels started coming off when the team lost three straight against Belgium, Wales and Serbia, but Scotland managed a 1-0 win over Croatia on the road in its most recent venture.

Prediction: Belgium wins 3-0.
