For many seasons, Nani's future was in doubt with Manchester United. However, on Thursday, the Portuguese international and his club made a five-year commitment to one another.

Nani has reportedly signed a deal to remain at the Old Trafford for the next five years despite being a perennial bench-warmer during most of his seasons since arriving in 2007.

However, he told the team's website that he was happy to play for the London club and was excited to continue working alongside new manager David Moyes.

"Playing at United has been a fantastic experience for me. When I came to the club, I never imagined the success we have enjoyed," Nani said, according to ESPN. "Training every day with top players who want to win trophies every year is a great motivation to me. I'm very happy that the new manager has shown this faith in me and I'm looking forward to helping the team compete for more honors this season."

"I'm really pleased Nani has re-signed for the next five years," said Moyes. "He has great ability and experience beyond his 26 years. I've been impressed with his approach to training and look forward to working with him in the coming seasons."

Nani has played a total of 213 times for the Red Devils and has scored 40 goals in his tenure. He has been the member of four Premier League title winners and a Champions League victor in 2008 alongside countryman Cristiano Ronaldo.
