Jack Nicholson will not retire from acting.

After a slew of rumors asserting the actor was retiring, NBC's Maria Shriver reported the rumors were false.

Earlier Wednesday, RadarOnline reported that a Hollywood insider said that the Oscar-winning actor would leave acting due to memory problems. The source said, "Jack has - without fanfare - retired. There is a simple reason behind his decision - it's memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him. His memory isn't what it used to be."

RadarOnline also reported that Nicholson had turned down a role in "Nebraska," which ultimately went to Bruce Dern. Paramount reportedly wanted Nicholson for the movie, but he was not interested in the role, according to RadarOnline.

Nicholson has not made a movie in three years. His last film was in 2010's "How Do You Know," which also starred Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd and Owen Wilson. Three years before, he made "The Bucket List" with Morgan Freeman. Nicholson has also starred in "The Departed," "Something's Gotta Give," "Anger Management," "China Town", "A Few Good Men" and "Reds."

The actor holds the record for male actor Oscar nominations. Nicholson has been nominated at the Oscars 12 times, and has won three Academy Awards for his work in "As Good as it Gets," "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "Terms of Endearment."

Nicholson has yet to announce his next project, but based on his latest work pattern, he may take another few months to choose his next film.
