Mexican soccer team Chivas took their official picture for the Apertura 2013 Tournament in an unusual way: by climbing to the top of Omnilife Stadium. According to Pulsoslp, owner Jorge Vergara took the photo along with the team's manager, support team, players and staff.

The picture was shared via the team's official Twitter account @Chivas with the message: "Here is the Official Picture of @Chivas for the AP2013, Enjoy." The entire team team can be seen up high, with their field and the stadium's bleachers in the background.

Pulsoslp also reported that the team's manager revealed the measures chief of security Pedro Lobato showed the team so they could access the stadium's roof. During the photo shoot, the footballers were smiling and amazed when they reached the roof.

To get on the roof, they split into groups of eight people, taking an elevator all the way to the last floor. Then a safety harness was placed on each player so they could be lifted up to the roof one by one. The manager also mentioned the amazement of each footballer when they saw the imposing stadium's view.

Once on the roof, all the players lined up for the cameras. Vergara said, "It's an impressive sensation, as if you were flying, it truly is impressive. It gives you a feel for humankind's greatness, by building what it built and did, to see the structure from above, this mass built by man, it truly is impressive."

Informador shared some statements from the footballers, including one from midfielder Patricio Araujo, who said that "there was a lot of nervousness because of the fear of heights, honestly, it was a little hard for me to get up, but getting down was much simpler, I liked it because it was an intense experience (...)."

Left winger Miguel Ponce added, "I think that this picture was really extreme, sincerely, I was somewhat nervous getting up, but once you're there you feel safe and comfortable, which made getting down easier, it was very exciting to have such an impressive panorama (...)."

According to the team's manager, the idea of taking this original picture was inspired by "the beauty of the place, I had never been up there, and I thought it would be a spectacular place to get the team's picture, a team that's working their way up, a team with enough humility to make it. This is the most spectacular picture we've made."
