'Nashville' Season 2 Spoilers: Two Characters Will Get Engaged

Wedding bells may soon be ringing for two "Nashville" characters. Two characters will get engaged, but it will be a rushed proposal that may not be as romantic as viewers expect. Although the creators will not tell who gets engaged, E! Online shared that it is definitely not Juliette (Hayden Panettiere), who had a short-lived marriage in season one. 

Could Rayna be the one accepting a proposal? Fans can only speculate as of now, but it is confirmed that Rayna will have a few new love interests this upcoming season. 

Rayna survived a near-fatal car crash with Deacon (Charles Esten) in last season's finale. Rayna recently had a falling out with Deacon over the secret about Maddie's (Lennon Stella) paternity. The revelation ruined their recently reignited relationship. 

Rayna will be juggling several men after her split from Deacon. TV Guide reports that the show is casting a recurring love interest for Rayna named Luke, a music star who is signed onto her record label. Rayna will initially be attracted to the character's humility and his kindness toward his fans. However, her attraction to him fades when he gives her sexist career advice. 

Another romantic interest of Rayna's will be a label executive played by "Rules of Engagement's" Oliver Hudson, according to TV Line. Hudson will play an aggressive but charismatic executive who will "shake things up in Nashville." Hudson is the second actor to join the cast after Chaley Rose, who joined the show to assume the role of Scarlett's (Clare Bowen) best friend.

Juliette will also be getting a new love interest. TVLine reports that Charlie Bewley of "Twilight" and "The Vampire Diaries" will play Trey, a charming businessman who woos Juliette. Bewley will debut in the third episode of the upcoming season.  

Chris Carmack, who plays Will, Scarlett and Gunnar's (Sam Palladio) neighbor, is another permanent addition to the cast. Will's character will continue to struggle as a secretly gay man in the country music industry. 

Last season also focused on the feud between country music divas Rayna and Juliette. ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee told Wetpaint that the rivalry will drive the second season. "That particular rivalry with Connie and Hayden['s characters] is coming to a head," Paul revealed.

"Nashville" will return for its second season on September 25 on ABC.
