It looks like HTC won't have too much to show us at the IFA 2013 consumer electronics show, besides the new mid-range and entry-level Desire series, but for fans of the HTC One mini who wanted something a little different from the standard silver, HTC's offerings this week might be just enough. Behold: the HTC One mini in "Vivid Blue."

The HTC One mini has been announced in a "Vivid Blue" variant, along with the original HTC One, in a bit of a surprise for the rumor mill. The HTC One was spotted in its new blue suit in a few venues before the announcement, but the new blue HTC One mini seemingly hid behind its big brother, away from the prying eyes of tech bloggers until now. Now HTC has made it official, posting press images of the Vivid Blue HTC One mini. The HTC One mini looks quite nice in this new color, giving the all-business aluminum mini device a dash of panache.

There isn't any information about release dates, other than a release window of sometime in Q4, undoubtedly in time for the holiday shopping season. Right now AT&T is the sole carrier in the U.S. that offers the HTC One mini, so that's a good bet for the Vivid Blue variant. We'll keep you updated if or when other carriers announce the HTC One mini. Right now, the Vivid Blue HTC One is the closest thing we have to confirmed release dates, as an internal device listing from Sprint has put the release date as Sept. 10.

The HTC One mini is the slightly pared-down, low cost version of the HTC One, which was launched in the U.S. by AT&T on Friday, Aug. 23. The device costs about $100 with a two-year agreement. The HTC One mini comes with a 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 HD display with 720p resolution, running on a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, clocked at 1.4GHz and 1GB of RAM assisting.
