Brent, 37-years-old, an ex-laboratory chimpanzee who lives in the Chimp Haven sanctuary since 2006, was claimed recently as the winner of a contest exclusive for chimpanzees organized by the Human Society of the United States.

The custodians held up the canvases for the participants so they could create their masterpieces. In his case, Brent used colors purple, yellow and blue. His brush? His own tongue.

With this beautiful painting, and after the participation of more than 27,000 public voters, Brent won the first place which meant a $10,000 prize for the sanctuary. As well, the second and third place went to Cheetah and Ripley, two chimpanzees from the sanctuaries Save the Chimps and Center for Great Apes, respectively.
