Puerto Rico remained undefeated in the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship, while host country Venezuela thrilled their hometown crowd anew after posting their second-straight victory. The qualifying tournament for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be on its fourth day on Monday.

Puerto Rico 93 - Uruguay 69

Puerto Rico (3-0) kept their record unblemished after scoring a dominating 93-69 win over Uruguay (1-1) in Day 3 of the World Cup qualifiers in Caracas, Venezuela.

Carlos Arroyo had another stellar performance for Puerto Rico, finishing with 19 points on 6-for-11 clip from the floor, including five three-pointers, while also tallying eight dimes and three steals.

Renaldo Balkman also made his presence felt with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Alexander Galindo had his best game of the tournament with 19 points on 6-for-10 shooting from beyond-the-arc.

Uruguay took a 12-8 lead early in the third period, but Puerto Rico took control from then on and led by as much 27 points in the second half.

Venezuela 70 - Dominican Republic 65

After dropping their first assignment against Mexico, host country Venezuela (2-1) are now on top of Group B after posting their second straight win on Sunday.

A day after tallying their first win of the tournament in a tightly-contested match against Paraguay, Venezuela picked up from where they left off and escaped with another hard-earned 70-65 victory over Dominican Republic (1-1).

Donta Smith led Venezuela's charge with his 19 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. David Cubillan also scored 19 points, while second-stringer Rafael Perez added 11 points.

Mexico 87 - Paraguay 65

Like Puerto Rico, Mexico (2-0) also remained undefeated in the tournament after dealing Paraguay (0-3) a humiliating 87-65 loss, displaying a balanced attack on the offensive end of the floor.

Orlando Mendez tallied 17 points and three assists, Milwaukee Bucks center Gustavo Ayon scored 14 points on 7-for-7 shooting, while Jorge Gutierrez and Paul Stoll each added 11 points. Jovan Harris contributed 10 points.

Mexico shot 48 percent from the field, while also grabbing 10 more rebounds, 40-30, than Paraguay, who remained winless in three games.

Canada 91 - Brazil 62

Meanwhile, Canada (2-1) rebounded from a tough loss to Puerto Rico with a morale-boosting 91-62 victory over Brazil (0-2).

Cory Joseph, who only scored four points in their 83-67 defeat against Puerto Rico, bounced back big time, scoring 28 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the field. The San Antonio Spurs point guard also tallied nine rebounds, four dimes, and three steals.

FIBA Americas action will continue today featuring four games that could dictate the final picture of the preliminary round that will end on Tuesday.
