The Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 720 have been placed under the Easy Monthly Installment (EMI) plan in India following the success of previous Lumia smartphones.

Following the footsteps of the Lumia 520 and Lumia 620, Nokia's EMI payment option gives consumers the opportunity to issue no down payments or processing fee.

The addition of the Lumia 920 on the EMI plan gives the consumer the option of paying Rs. 5,649 for six months, or $86 when converted to the U.S. dollar.

The Lumia 720's price under the EMI is Rs. 3,203 for six months, or $47 USD.

According to the terms and conditions of the EMI plan, payments must made by credit card and acceptable with banks Axis Bank, Citibank, HDFC Bank, HSBC Bank, New Indian Assurance, SBI, and Standard Chartered.

As WMPowerUser noted, the EMI plan, which makes expensive devices more affordable, has been adopted by Apple as well.

The Lumia 920's features include a screen size of 4.5-inches, 32GB of internal storage with 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with 3,264x2,448 pixels with LED flash, Bluetooth 4.0, an NFC chip and a 2,000 mAh battery capacity.

Meanwhile, the Lumia 720's features include a 4.3-inch screen with 800x400 pixels, a rear-facing camera capable of stills at 6.1 megapixels with 2,848x2,144 pixels, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. In terms of memory, the internal storage of the Windows Phone 8 smartphone is 8GB with 512MB of RAM. The device has a battery capacity of 2,000mAh providing up to 520 hours of standby time and 13 hours and 20 minutes for talk time under a 3G network.
