Windows Phone 8 Amber Update in Brazil: Status Update for Nokia Lumia WP8 Smartphones [Video]

The Nokia Lumia smartphones with the Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system will receive the new Amber Update, but it might take a while for its final rollout.

According to Nokia, the Lumia 520, Lumia 620, Lumia 720, Lumia 820, and Lumia 920 will obtain the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update.

With the Lumia 520, the Windows Phone 8 Amber Update is listed as "Waiting for approval" via mobile carriers Claro, Oi, TIM, and Vivo.

The Lumia 620's Windows Phone 8 Amber Update is also waiting approval from Claro, Oi, TIM, and Vivo, as well as a "Country variant" in Brazil.

The "Waiting for approval" status continued for the Lumia 720 via carriers Claro and Oi. Claro, Oi, and Vivo's Lumia 820 is also waiting approval.

Finally, the Lumia 920 is listed as "Coming soon" with a "Country variant" in Brazil, but it is also waiting approval from Claro, Oi, and Vivo.

The Finnish organization has defined the term "waiting for approval" as undergoing a final test with either the specific country or mobile carrier before approval. The definition for "coming soon" means the update has been approved but is in "final pre-release checks."

As Latinos Post noted, the Windows Phone 8 Nokia Lumia Amber Update improves the smartphone's camera, particularly the auto focus, noise filter, and low-light photo-taking capabilities, to name a few.

Nokia noted, "To make sure you don't miss out on the notification, check on your phone that under Settings > Phone Update > 'Tell me when updates are available for my phone' is enabled."
