The launch date for the next Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: APPL) smartphone might have been leaked with the fourth-largest U.S. mobile carrier.

According to TMO News, T-Mobile has blacked out Sept. 20 to Sept. 22 on its calendars. The move by the carrier might represent the release dates of the iPhone 5S and the low-cost Apple smartphone rumored to be the iPhone 5C.

The report noted that the dates could instead refer to the debut of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which might be revealed at a Sept. 4 event.

"However, I really don't see T-Mobile beefing up their schedule for a Note III launch, but an iPhone launch makes sense. The writing is on the wall if this rumor pans out, T-Mobile is beginning its preparation for the next iPhone iteration," reported TMO News' David Beren.

According to CNET, a T-Mobile spokesperson declined to comment on the report.

"Employee blackouts can often times be a good indicator of when a major product is expected to launch," noted CNET's Josh Lowensohn. "That was the case last August, when both Verizon and AT&T slated staff vacation blackouts beginning on Sept. 21, which ended up being the same day the iPhone went on sale in nine countries."

As Latinos Post reported, Apple is allegedly planning to reveal the new iPhone, whether it'll be known as the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, during an event on Sept. 10, and it will reportedly go on sale Sept. 20,
