FC Basel looks to make a return to the Champions League when it takes on Ludogorets Razgrad in the second leg of the Champions League playoffs.

The Swiss team played in the tournament 2011-12 when it made a historic run to the round of 16. However, last year the team fell short and had to settle for a semi-finals run in the Europa League instead.

The road to the renowned tournament is easy as long as the team does not overlook the task at hand. In the first match of the playoff, Basel seized a 4-2 win. Basel's Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the 12th minute but Razgrad's Marcelinho scored 11 minutes later to level the score. Ivan Stoyanov gave the Belarusian side a 2-1 lead in the 50th minute, but Salah came to the rescue in the 59th minute to even the score. After that Basel seized control with goals from Giovanni Sio and Fabian Schar.

The four away goals are a seemingly insurmountable mountain to climb for Razgrad, but the team could make it through to the Champions League group stage with a 3-0 or 4-1 win. If the first scenario played out, then the Belarusian side would hold a 5-4 aggregate lead. If the second scenario played out, then Razgrad's aggregate lead would stand at 6-5.

However, Basel only needs to play a conservative match to make it through to the next round and can afford a 1-1 or 2-2 draw. A 2-0 loss or less is also acceptable for the Swiss team.

Prediction: Basel is home and will cruise to a 1-0 win.
