"Infamous: Second Son" is one of the PlayStation 4 exclusives that many fans of the console are eager to find out more about, and now it has been revealed to Polygon that developer Sucker Punch is planning to release the game in February of 2014.

This puts the game solidly in the middle of the PlayStation 4's launch window.

The game is a follow-up to the second game in the series, and will feature a new protagonist and storyline. Delsin Rowe is a 24-year-old graffiti artist who suddenly discovers he has superpowers. Instead of having powers over electricity like the previous protagonist in the series, Cole, Delsin is able to turn into fire and smoke, which allows him to pass through enemies and maneuver through obstacles such as air vents. Deslin will also have the convenient ability to absorb the powers of others, meaning that perhaps we could see some electrical powers eventually make it into the game like the previous games in the series.

"Infamous: Second Son" will take place in Seattle, and players will be able to explore the city and cause all sorts of mayhem if they choose to. Several studios and IT companies are located in Seattle, so perhaps gamers will be able to crash some studios and deliver a beatdown of some of Sucker Punch's peers. Also of note is that player's decisions in the game will affect the game's world, so players will be able to follow multiple paths through the game to try and see all the different outcomes of the game's plot.

The game recently had a new trailer shown at Gamescom 2013, and in the video it is shown how Delsin can absorb other people's powers, as well as the combat users can expect to use throughout the game. The new protagonist and setting should help the popular series reach a new level of popularity and show off the power of the PlayStation 4. Sucker Punch has been able to deliver in the past, and while the game is quite different from the first two games, Infamous: Second Son has the chance to expand and improve on the series' formula for the PlayStation 4.

Look out for more Infamous: Second Son news as the PlayStation 4 approaches its November 15 launch date and the game gets a more concrete release date in February.
