Motorola Moto X Phone Release Date for AT&T: Today, Verizon Next Week - Specs and Price for U.S. Launch

Today is the day that AT&T customers can get their hands on the Motorola Moto X, the fully customized phone that promises customers the ability to design their own phone and have it shipped right to their door.

Interested users looking to pick up their own Moto X can go to the official Moto X website  and mix and match the options for their own version of the phone. Users can pick out the individual colors of the back, front, and accent colors of the device. The range of colors is stunning, and users can even pick out the color of the volume, power, and ring around the camera.  Users can also design a case for the phone for an additional charge.

Users can also pick the storage for the device, as they can go with the default 16GB of memory for the device for $199 (with a two year commitment plan from a service provider), or they can boost the memory to 32GB for an additional $50.  Users can add a message to the home screen of the phone that will show up every time the Moto X is turned on.  Users can calso hoose the default wallpaper for the smartphone, or import their own so it is ready when the device is delivered to the customer. The phone can also be synced up to a Google account so users can power up the device for the first time and already have their Gmail account and other Google features.

While AT&T customers are the first to be able to grab a Moto X phone, Verizon Wireless customers can get their hands on the device next week. However, there will be a delay in when Verizon Wireless or other service providers can customize their own version of the device, as the phone will only be able to get the phone in black and white initially.

As far as specs go, the Moto X does not have the stats to compete with other high-end smartphones, but that is by design. The smartphone will have a 4.7 inch screen that can deliver a resolution of 720p. The device runs on a Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor, and is designed to help the battery last for 24 hours. The device is designed to fit comfortably in one hand, and is a compact, curved smartphone.
