Status updates have been announced for the United Kingdom's Windows Phone 8 smartphone owners awaiting the Amber update.
Nokia has confirmed the Lumia 520, Lumia 620, Lumia 720, Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 will receive the updates, but the smartphones have different release dates.

Although the release dates vary by the mobile carrier as well, only two Lumia devices are already set to receive the Windows Phone Amber update: the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 from carrier Vodafone.
Meanwhile, the Lumia 520 is "waiting for approval" from 3UK, Everything Everywhere (EE), O2 and Vodafone.
The Lumia 620 is also waiting approval from 3UK, O2, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone.
The Lumia 720 is also waiting approval from O2.
The Lumia 820 is awaiting approval from EE, however, it is listed as "coming soon" for owners contracted with O2 and Vodafone Pay as You Go.
Finally, the Lumia 920 is waiting approval from 3UK and EE. The Lumia 920 is "coming soon" for O2 customers.
As Latinos Post reported, the Lumia Amber Update improves the smartphone's camera, particularly the auto focus, noise filter, and low-light photo-taking capabilities, to name a few.
"Your phone notifies you once an update is available," noted Nokia. "We ask you to be patient, as updates for Nokia Lumia range are always released gradually. To make sure you don't miss out on the notification, check on your phone that under Settings > Phone Update > 'Tell me when updates are available for my phone' is enabled."
Nokia has defined the term "waiting for approval" as undergoing final test with either the specific country or mobile carrier before approval.
The definition for "coming soon" means the update has been approved but is in "final pre-release checks."
