Cuban hearthrob William Levy took time out of his busy schedule to visit a hospital where children with cancer are treated in the state of Veracruz, the state where telenovela "La Tempestad" is currently shooting.

"Between scenes I took the time to visit the oncology ward at the Veracruz Regional Hospital. Here are some images of the visit," the star wrote on his Twitter account.

"I'm sharing these images with the purpose of giving you another reason to smile in life. If these children can't complain we shouldn't either about the small and insignificant problems in life. I want to thank these kids for giving me such a warm welcome. To all of them: I love you! " Levy added.

The actor took time with each one of the patients of the ward and offered words of encouragement to undergo their treatment. He also signed autographs, played gamed with some of the childen and posed for photos.

Levy has been the source of much speculation lately since it has been announced that the popular actor will not be renewing his contract with Televisa, the largest telenovela producer in the world. "La Tempestad," the current telenovela in which Levy stars in, has been a ratings failure. According to reports, Televisa executives have blamed Levy for the lack of success citing a lack of commitment on his behalf and reported instances of indiscipline. Co-star Daniela Romo recently defended Levy in an interview saying that the actor has been nothing but professional during the tapings of the show.

There has been further speculation that the actor would sign with Telemundo to star in a number of telenovelas in the United States but sources close to Levy have said that once shooting for "La Tempestad" is done, he will move back to Miami with his family and will try to focus on a movie career. Levy is already scheduled to appear in "Single Moms Club" and "Addicted," which will be released next year. The actor is also rumored to star in "Boom Town."

The actor has also been linked romantically to co-star and former Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete, who is a newcomer to the telenovela scene. Both Levy and Navarrete have vehemently denied the rumors and say that nothing but a good friendship has developed between both of them during the shooting of "La Tempestad."
