74 years ago, fashion designers predicted what Eve would look like in A.D. 2000. Let's see if their predictions were true!

Fashion designers in 1939 were quite bold with their fashion predictions for the year 2000. Although not clear if these videos were made as a joke - and we hope they're not, some of their predictions were almost on track!

The rather gleeful announcer daringly presented fashion predictions for the year 2000 starting with a dress that can be "adapted" to be used in the morning, afternoon and evening. And the highlight that makes this dress "adaptable"? It's the sleeves! Another prediction is a dress made out of net which the announcer jokingly refers to as something that will "probably catch the males." Skirts were also predicted to disappear entirely and shoes with cantilever heels will be a huge hit! There will also be an "electric belt" which will adapt the body to climatic changes. Other fashion predictions include women in 2000 to be "lightly clad", wedding gowns made of glass, aluminum dresses and a headlight hair piece which will help women find an "honest man." What do you think of these predictions?

The fashion industry of 1939 were also generous enough to share with us a few handy make-up tips through the following video tutorials.
