Justin Timberlake reigns as the King of Pop. His comeback album, The 20/20 Experience, marked the singer's return to the music industry with grace, poise and success. He's currently wrapping up its second installment, which is set to hit stores September 30, but he's sparking more fan frenzy along the way. Not only is Timberlake further affirming his own return with a second album, but his former pop group, which helped propel him to his current level of fame, could be making a special appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards this Sunday. Timberlake is sticking close to roots. 'N SYNC is back.

Well, at least for one performance. According to US Weekly, the band will be reuniting for their first televised performance together in ten years. Upon accepting this year's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, Timberlake will be joined by former bandmates JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick for a brief set.

But before you pop in your old 90s boy band favorites in anticipation for the heavenly performance, it's important that the rumors are likely, but not confirmed. MTV producers are currently "trying to make it happen" and that the reunion is slowly but surely "coming together." Promising, yet still, not official. With only five days until the ceremony, there's plenty of work to do. Fans will most likely have to wait until Sunday to see for themselves whether or not Timberlake will bring his comrades along his rollercoaster comeback.

In addition to the riveting new surrounding the possible 'N SYNC performance, Timberlake has announced that his forthcoming album, The 20/20 Experience Pt. 2, will include two bonus tracks. The songs will be called "Blindness" and "Electric Lady" and will accompany the 12 songs on the standard release, according to Capital FM.

Between a new album, a possible 'N SYNC reunion, a summer tour with Jay-Z in the books and world tour on the horizon, Timberlake is unstoppable. There's nothing standing in his way, and he's taking full advantage. JT is back.
