Alex Rodriguez Denies '60 Minutes' Report, Expects More 'Stories' to Come Out

Alex Rodriguez recently broke his silence about a report from "60 Minutes" that suggested he and his associates leaked information to media outlets, implicating New York Yankees teammate Francisco Cervelli and Milwaukee standout Ryan Braun in the highly-publicized Biogenesis scandal.

Rodriguez vehemently denied the allegations, while also reiterating that he had already talked with Cervelli, who is currently serving a 50-game suspension after being involved in the Biogenesis anti-aging clinic scandal.

"It's not true," said Rodriguez in an ESPN interview. "We had a positive conversation. He understands it's not true. We're on the same page."

The 38-year-old veteran, who filed an appeal regarding the 211-game suspension handed by MLB commissioner Bud Selig, also pointed out that the allegation is just part of the series of issues that aim to tarnish his reputation.

"We're all going to have to get ready for a bumpy road," Rodriguez said. "It's going to get bigger every day. I would expect bigger and bigger stories to come out every day. It's frustrating that it's coming out one drip at a time."

"You wish all of this could be done in a confidentiality manner like the collective bargaining agreement says it should, but that's not the case. We're going to have to deal with it. When I have the right platform at the right time and the time is appropriate -- which is not now -- I will tell my full story."

Rodriguez was also asked who he believed was behind the stories against him, but the 19-year-veteran declined to comment. However, he pointed out that those people will get sued, while ESPN sources close to the situation added that Rodriguez's camp is mulling taking actions against "60 Minutes" and CBS.

Yankees manager Jo Girardi was also grilled with questions about the issue. Girardi did not comment, but he dismissed earlier reports suggesting that the relationship between Rodriguez and his teammates had soured because of the issue.

"I think the guys have had fun with Alex being back here, and I don't expect that to change. I don't see anything changing," Girardi said.
