Eminem Performs Live at G-Shock 'Shock The World' Party [Videos]

Eminem is celebrated as one rap's all-time greatest lyricists. However, as the Detroit rapper became more renowned for his controversial lyrics and remarkable word play, he also grew more reclusive throughout his 14 year career in the mainstream.

Nonetheless, a select audience was treated with a rare Slim Shady performance at G-Shock's 30th Anniversary Party in New York City last week. Unfortunately, everything but Em's rapping was live streamed from the exclusive party. Eminem also failed to tease new music from his upcoming eighth studio album, as rumored at G-Shock's "Shock The World 2013" party. But on the bright side, a number of fans in the crowd used recording devices to share Slim Shady's exclusive performance with the rest of the world.

The 40-year-old rapper opened his hour-long set with "Won't Back Down" and topped the night off with the timeless "8 Mile" classic "Lose Yourself," reports Rolling Stone. He also performed "The Way I Am," "Sing For The Moment" and "Like Toy Soldiers."

Before Em hit the stage, Shady Records recording artist Yelawolf opened with singles like "Trunk Muzik," reports MTV.

In addition, G-Shock also unveiled Eminem's own limited edition, Detroit-inspired G-Shock watch, which will be released this winter. The watch is engraved with his reverse "E" logo and an autograph that reads "Shady," while the band features an outline of the Detroit skyline.

The digital sports watch, which goes by the name GDX6900MNM-1, is expected to hit stores in December for the retail price of $180.

According to a press release from G-Shock, the new watch will be "available in matte black with black dial and black reverse LCD, the GDX6900MNM-1 harkens to Eminem's darker past in the crumbling city of Detroit, the skyline of which is printed in bold red on the upper watch band."
