This summer, we'll see the epic run of a notorious crystal meth empire come to an end. AMC's original series "Breaking Bad" has followed the descent of a cancer-stricken high school chemistry teacher into the dark depths of the unforgiving drug trade. Along the way he's severed family ties, befriended and betrayed a former drug-dealing student and killed those who threaten his vicious path to the top of the drug food chain. Fans have been desperately waiting to see how the reign of the megalomaniac will conclude. Finally, Bryan Cranston, who plays Walt, shared his thoughts on the upcoming season.
Season five will return August 11, ending the year long "Breaking Bad" drought we've experienced since the first eight episodes aired last year. There has been very little talk about what we can expect, but a recent interview on Jay Leno's "The Tonight Show" with Cranston provides fans with an idea of what's in store. The overall theme? Prepare yourself for a wild ride.
"For fans of the show, it's always been kind of a serpentine struggle for Walter White trying to navigate his way through this," Cranston said. "The last eight is like the downward slide of a roller coaster. Your arms are up. You're screaming. It goes quickly."
As incredible and thrilling as that sounds, fans will be heartbroken to see the final episodes pass by so quickly. What else is there to life once "Breaking Bad" comes to a conclusion?
The hour is drawing near. The wait is almost over. August 11 is a measly two days away. So fasten you safety harnesses, throw out all inhibitions, and throw your arms in the air. It's going to be one hell of a drop.
