Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that there are no current bids for Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini.
"There are no bids," Fellaini said in an interview with the club's official website. "When you read that someone is interested in someone, it doesn't mean there is a bid on the table.
"Marouane has been working really hard," he added. "Headlines in the media happen at this time of the season unfortunately but it won't distract me from the work we have to do. I'm not bothered at all.
"It is speculation in the media and you'll never stop that. I've said from day one as a manager you only concentrate on working hard. I don't mind having my players grabbing headlines. That's a good story because it means they've been doing well and performing well.
"I'm only concentrating on having as strong a squad as possible for the start of the season. That's all my concern is," he concluded.
Manchester United has been rumored as the team pursuing Fellaini. The club had been chasing Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas aggressively but was rejected numerous times. Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino confirmed that the Spanish midfielder would remain with the Spanish champs this season.
"[Fabregas] continues to be with us, and he will stay with us this season," Martino said.
Everton is coming off a sixth place finish in the eight-team International Champions Cup. The team opened its tournament with a shootout victory over Juventus. In the ensuing match the team lost 2-1 against Real Madrid before succumbing to Valencia 1-0 in the fifth-place game.
