Sony !1 Homani News: Custom ROM Gives Possible Preview Into Smartphone's Features (Video)

Sony has several different smartphones in the works, and one of the more mysterious devices they are working on is the Xperia !1 Honami. The device has yet to be detailed by Sony, but savvy smartphone owners have taken it upon themselves to make their own version of the Honami through custom ROM.  

The device's custom ROM has been created on the Xperia Z, which is interesting because most of the information about the device has been revealed in comparisons between the Honami and the Xperia Z. The user who made the ROM bases the Honami ROM on the eXsitenZ custom ROM for the Xperia Z. The Honami apps and frameworks are added to the Xperia Z, making a unique hybrid that may reveal what users can expect from the device whenever it becomes available.

Features seen in the video of the custom made Honami ROM (which can be seen below) are pretty unique. One of the most distinctive features is a phonebook app with a pseudo parabolic zoom of the letters when the user scrolls through the list. Lockscreen widgets were shown, as well as a camera app that is used as a "windowed" feature. Finally, quick launching apps are seen in a toggle drawer. It remains to be seen if these features are indeed part of the Honami, or if Sony takes the phone in a different direction once they actually start previewing the phone.

Sony has yet to go into details about the specs of the device, but it is rumored to have Snapdragon 800 chip and 2GB of RAM under the hood. The screen is supposedly a 5.0-inch full HD display with a 1920×1080 resolution, meaning that it has a compatible resolution to the massive Xperia Z Ultra, and will have a bigger and higher resolution screen than the Motorola Moto X. But the most talked about feature that has been leaked about the Xperia !1 Honami is that the device will have a 20 megapixel rear camera and a 8 megapixel front facing camera, which will be some pretty powerful hardware if it is indeed part of the device.

It has been rumored that the Xperia !1 Honami will be revealed sometime in September, so that may be the time that Sony reveals more about the device. Until then, rumors will continue to swirl around concerning the Honami.
