Cristiano Ronaldo's new contract with Real Madrid seems more and more likely by the minute.

Recent reports indicate that the club is closing in on a €17 million-a-year deal for the superstar. However, Ronaldo would not confirm the news or rumors.

"The situation is not yet sorted, so it is not the right moment to talk about this," he said of his contract. "Further on, maybe something more concrete will be known, but at the moment it is just up to me to train and work."

Ronaldo also commented on a jab he received from former head coach Jose Mourinho. The Chelsea boss mentioned the "real" Ronaldo during an interview, referring to the Brazilian superstar. Many questioned Ronaldo about the circumstance and he responded with his own veiled attack.

"There are things in life which do not deserve comments," he told ESPN Deportes. "That is something I am not going to talk about for obvious reasons.

"I always respect my coaches and set out to learn from them. In Portugal, people say: 'I do not spit in the meal I am eating.' So that. I prefer to stick to positive things."

Mourinho has not clarified if he was insulting Ronaldo or if it was simply a comment that got blown out of proportion.

Ronaldo and Real Madrid will take on Chelsea in the final of the International Champions Cup this week. Ronaldo claims that the comment will not alter his focus on the game at hand.

"We are going to take on Chelsea, but it is just another game. We are taking on Chelsea, not the manager. We want to win," he said.
