Barcelona vice-president Javier Faus insists that Cesc Fabregas will remain at Barcelona.
Faus is the latest in a long list of Barcelona stars and executives that have vouched for the player's interest to stay at the Camp Nou.
"It's a theme in sports. He has a contract, the club and the coach want him to stay," the vice-president said according to ESPN. "Come on, he will stay. The interest is real, but we have no intention of letting him go."
Manchester United has been actively pursuing the midfielder and has reportedly made three bids for him. However, every single attempt has been met with rejection.
"He's quite relaxed," Barca midfielder Xavi Hernandez said about Fabregas sticking with the team. "He's under contract and everything else is speculation. He's working with the group and is up to speed and very motivated.
"They're just rumors," he said of the constant speculation. "We'll see what happens, but he's relaxed and ready for the coming season with Barcelona."
"United are wasting their time. It took a long time for Cesc to get his dream move back home and he won't give it up. This is home, it is where his family is, and he is playing with his closest friends," added Barcelona defender Gerard Pique. "He has told us he is happy and that he intends to stay with Barcelona."
"I'm not going to involve myself in the club's accounts, but considering the club has already rejected two offers, I would guess it will reject a third. In other words, Fabregas will remain here," added new Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino.
"We can assure you that we won't listen to any offers for Cesc. It is not an option. Cesc is non-transferable," said Barcelona's Vice President Josep Maria Bartomeu weeks ago.
Fabregas was brought in to be the replacement for Xavi Hernandez or Andres Iniesta. However, the Spaniard has found himself relegated to the forward position because his colleagues remain in top form. However, the arrival of Neymar is likely to push him out of the forward spot and force him onto the bench. At Manchester, he would be given the starting spot in his usual central midfield position.
