The ghoulish Southern town of Bon Temps will never be the same after season six. As "True Blood" inches closer to the end of the season, fans should prepare for a major death that will change the show forever.
According to Hollywood Life, showrunner Brian Buckner disclosed that "one of the principal characters will not make it all the way through the season." Since that statement, speculating fans have been impatient with anticipation to find out who will meet their demise at the end of the sixth season.
"True Blood's" Michael McMillian, who plays former reverend Steve Newlin, said that the death will be particularly shocking and will change the show's dynamics. "I obviously can't say who it is, but I was definitely surprised when I found out," McMillian said. He further added that the devastating death "changes the tone of the show" completely.
Buckner also said that the season finale will take viewers back to "True Blood's" beginnings, bringing the focus back to the main characters. "You're going to feel that the show is going to return back to its roots and be about this gang of people living in Bon Temps," Buckner said. "We're going to try to condense the number of stories we're telling and really make this feel like we're going home."
Season six also holds many more twists and turns, including the uncertain intentions of Warlow (Rob Kazinsky), Sookie's (Anna Paquin) new love interest. Warlow slaughtered a village in the year 3496 B.C. after being transformed into a vampire/faerie by Lillith, the mother of all vampires. However, Warlow was remorseful about the massacre and killed Lillith to ease his conscience. Yet, Warlow committed another ostensibly evil act when he murdered Sookie's parents. However, Warlow claims that he did it out of love, and that Sookie's parents were going to kill her to prevent Warlow from turning Sookie into a vampire/faerie.
According to TV Guide, Kazinsky hinted at Comic-con that Warlow may have some underlying intentions that are no so loving. "You're going to see some gnarly stuff," Kazinsky said about the character.
Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp), the woman on a mission to rid the earth of vamps, will reportedly reach even higher heights of crazy on this Sunday's episode, according to Hollywood Life. Anna Camp dished on the upcoming episode while she was backstage at the 2013 Young Hollywood Awards on Aug 1.
"This Sunday night is going to be crazy," Camp said. "You'll see a woman at the end of her rope. She's power-hungry, she's veangeful and you'll see what happens to a woman like that, who is so dead-set on her mission. Is she going to break? Is she going to succeed?"
Sarah has a history of insane behavior. This season, she kissed Governor Burrell's severed head, a move that was all Camp's idea.
"They didn't even tell me to do that," Camp revealed. "I decided to that all on my own during rehearsal. The director loved it, and the crew was like, 'Oh my God, I can't believe you just did that.' But I'm like, 'This is True Blood. When else am I going to get to kiss a severed head?'"
