'Batman vs. Superman' Movie News Update: Frank Miller and Zack Snyder

Zach Snyder and Frank Miller will be meeting to speak about the upcoming "Batman vs. Superman" movie.

A source close to Miller told The Independent, "Frank had no idea the announcement in San Diego was going to happen so it did come as a surprise. He's going to be meeting up with Zach in the next few days to go over the plans for the Superman film so things should be clearer after that."

The film's announcement was the biggest surprise at the Comic-Con expo. During the Warner Bros. conference, Zach Snyder announced the movie with "Man of Steel" actor Harry Lennix. During the announcement, Lennix used a quote from the Batman and Superman comic by Miller. Lennix read, "I want you to remember, Clark, in all the years to come ... In your most private moments, I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you."

The use of the quote made fanboys speculate the film would be based on Miller's comic books. However, Snyder and writer David Goyer recently revealed that they were not planning on using Miller's works.

The upcoming "Batman vs. Superman" will reunite Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane from "Man of Steel." Warner Bros. has yet to announce who will play Batman in the new film, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt is rumored play the iconic superhero after the end to "The Dark Knight Rises."

"Man of Steel" was recently released to mixed reviews, but scored over $283 million at the domestic box office and $621 million worldwide. The last Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises," was released in 2012 and went on to make $448 million domestically and made $1.084 billion worldwide.  

"Batman vs. Superman" is scheduled for a 2015 release.
