Showtime's hit serial killer drama "Dexter" is inching closer and closer to its final episode. The show, which is on its eighth and final season, is gearing up for its last seven episodes starting on Sunday. The upcoming episode, called "A Little Reflection," will find Dexter dealing with a new possible threat as Deb works with Elway.

In a preview for the upcoming episode, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is seen following his potential new target Zach, who was introduced in the last episode. Much to Dex's concern, he spots Zach leaving Dr. Vogel's (Charlotte Rampling) home. When he confronts her about it, she tells him that Zach's father reached out to her for help. While she seems determined to help Zach out, Dexter seems to have other plans, which don't exactly include a living Zach.

Meanwhile, Dexter's sister Deb will continue working with Elway (Sean Patrick Flanery). However, Elway's feelings for Deb may be a little clouded. In a sneak peak for the upcoming episode, Elway is seen punching a man who's hitting on her during one of her jobs. However, the question remains whether he's actually concerned about Deb or the guy who's hitting on her.

In other "Dexter" news, Showtime Entertainment President may have hinted at a possible spinoff series in an interview with reporters. According to Entertainment Weekly, David Nevins used the two-year development deal with "Dexter" showrunner Scott Buck to tease the possible spinoff.

"We are really not dealing with it at all until we are through with this season and maybe a while thereafter," Nevins clarified. "There are always things that can be done," the exec added. "We have a deal with Scott and we are going to talk to a bunch of different things with him. I don't know anything. There is nothing real. There's no sense of whether it will happen, if it will happen, but I want to stay in business with Scott."

"Dexter" S8E6, "A Little Reflection," airs Sunday, August 4 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
